Grab a Life Experience Story Form for Your Teen Ministry.
You'll be Amazed at How They'll Minister to Each Other Through the Stuff They'll Share.

Help the teens you lead develop their personal experiences into something that can make it undeniably evident to other teens that God is alive, awesome and present in every imaginable life situation. Once they develop their personal "God experiences," they can share them with the group and witness to one another about how God showed His true character as He worked in their lives.

Think of an event in your life that included one of the following:

a specific conflict
a challenge or obstacle
a blessing or miracle

Did God work though the situation by answering prayer; bringing the help you needed to the right place at the right time, etc.?

Recall the outcome.

Can your experience show others what God can do?

Describe details of the incident:

When did it happen? (How old were you, what time of year or day was it…)

Who was involved? (a friend, a parent, teacher, stranger…)

Where did it take place? Give the setting, i.e., a room in your home, a place at school, in a restaurant, hospital… Then, describe the setting: the objects around you, colors, textures, smells, sounds.

Why did it happen? (An accident, a misunderstanding, an illness…)

What took place? Describe any lack of understanding or confusion on your part, or others, surrounding the event or experience. Describe your human/instinctive reaction to the situation. Were you tempted to handle the situation in a way that was not very Christ-like? What were the results?

What was said? Recall some of he conversations between the people involved.

What part did you play in it? Did you stop and consciously decide to exercise your faith in God through the situation by: offering forgiveness, humbling yourself, becoming a peacemaker, offering support, serving someone, putting your pride aside, etc?

How did God reveal Himself in the situation?

After you have written out all of the answers, develop them into a story with a beginning, middle and an end. The more thorough you are in developing your experience, the better you will be at showing God's true character to others and impacting those that you share your experience with.
